I found it by chance while wandering around Peninsula Plaza, waiting for Mr AA for dinner. Loves it!
I will probably only use it on rainy days or to carry my camera on flights though. I find it too slow to whip my camera out from if I see something I want to capture quickly.

I have wanted a white camera since forever, maybe even almost ten years ago. Maybe eight years. I don’t know. Since the first white iBooks came out and I had a little 12 inch machine, I have wanted a white camera as well. Back then, it was almost impossible to find one which also functioned well. Then, suddenly, there was a boom of white (and other candy coloured) cameras. Somehow, I kept dragging my feet. The Olympus PEN series was cute but nothing was singing to me. Until now.
And so, I picked up my new toy for my Sydney adventures! :D
The lovely camera folk at Alan Photo wanted to give me this beautiful (and expensive) camera bag.
But I switched it for this! Am I stupid? They must have thought I was mad.
The army green and brown leather trim is just not me… I wish they made it in black or grey. I would feel like I’m wasting it if I took it and end up not using it. Am I stupid?

Mr Bb gave my iMac an overhaul last Saturday. My iMac has served me for more than four years now. It was starting to show signs of impending death (two major crashes). Funny enough, it started to behave really well a coupla weeks before the “surgery”. LOL! Almost as if it was trying to avoid the procedure. Well, it was for the better, my poor iMac!
We are now running on a 1TB hard drive. Maybe I should change Mr Bb’s blog name to Mr Wolf.

I’ve been looking forward to posting about these!
So, after procuring my MacBook Air some weeks ago, I did a tonne of research on the best way to protect it while maintaining portability and aesthetics. I looked at snap-cases and various laminate skins, and all the reviews on everything. Yes, bB likes to research things.
And the conclusion was… Gelaskins!
I didn’t want something too bulky. In my opinion, a gadget like a laptop should not be dropped anyway. Dropping a laptop = Big Trouble, whether or not it has any protection. I have no intention of ever dropping a laptop. LOL! Hence, my aim was to find something that provides protection from scratches, if I were to toss it in my bag without a padded cover.
Gelaskins was perfect because there are matching cases and skins for EVERYTHING! From iPhones to MacBooks to iPads to whathaveyouse! bB also loves matchy stuff. I was stoked that I could get my iPhone and MacBook Air to match perfectly!
I jumped in and placed my first order almost immediately… A week later, while I was in Taipei, this arrived at my home.
Woah! It was a feast for the eyes. The colours were absolutely gorgeous, and the textures were beautifully glossy. The quality of the Hardcase was just awesome. I was bowled over!
I had chosen two of their default artwork. Volcano, which turned out really lovely…
And Ragdolls, which was a vibrant pop of colour! I actually chose to reposition the artwork on the template because I liked the little Pony ragdoll the best and wanted him right in the centre. Customisation is at no extra cost, for any skin or Hardcase!
By this time, bB had been severely infected with the Sentimental Circus bug, after the Taipei vacay. I knew I had to have a Shappo skin made. So this caused a slight dilemma. Should I or should I not, use one of my two Gelaskin sets before Shappo skins arrive? This means I would need to take it off prematurely.
Then, I thought, what am I saving them for hey? Life is short!
No regrets putting Volcano on. It was just beautiful! And gave me a few priceless weeks of enjoyment! Volcano Hardcase was also on my iPhone!
And one other important thing was, it actually gave me a very handy first experience in putting the skin onto my MacBook Air. It turns out, putting the skin on does require a fair bit of skill. They make it look so easy in the videos! Definitely not true if you are even a little perfectionistico, because the skin does not actually fit right to the edge of the gadget completely.
It took bB six attempts to put this on. And then, the next day, she ripped it off again and placed it one final time. LOL. This is the best testimony for the quality of the product. This stuff is like magic. 3M technology rocks.
In the meantime, Sentimental Circus skins and Hardcase were painstakingly designed and ordered. Mr Bb got on the bandwagon and joined the order! We were so excited with our customisations. A very fun evening was spent on our designs and placing the order. We are such dorks.
I found Shappo wallpapers from the San-X site and edited them in Photoshop so they would fit properly with no awkward angles.
The peekture for the MacBook Air skin required fairly extensive Photoshop work to extend the sides.
I also realised that there was an Underside skin for the laptops! Woohoo! Another place to put a different Shappo peekture!
And then, we waited… with bated breath. Not really, it was too long for bated breath. But we were very excited!
The package arrived one evening, just before Mr Bb was off to Japan the following day for work. So we opened the package over Skype! Yes, we are dorks… but sometimes dorks have the most fun. :)

And Mr Bb’s stuff… A Hardcase for his new iPhone, a skin for his MacBook Pro, and a skin for his work laptop! Everything turned out wicked awesome! It was so cool to see our own designs spring to life onto actual products that are of amazing quality!
He came back from Japan on Tuesday morning and we spent part of our Labour Day holiday skinning our gadgets! More dorky fun!

I was so glad I had some practice with the Volcano skin previously. Would not have wanted to rip out my precious Shappo skin so many times, though it probably wouldn’t have done much damage.
As you can see, the skin fits perfectly side to side, but there is a 1mm gap on the top and bottom. According to Gelaskins, this was done on purpose because of the bevelled edges of the MacBook Air. I still think it would be better if it fit to the edges, but I’m happy with this anyway.
And this is how the underside looks… Loves it! <3
I am probably going to keep reprinting these skins over and over again when they wear out. Having Shappo on my gadgets is wicked awesome!

My brand new travel pal – MacBook Air 11″. <3
AluPen by Just Mobile – Love the way this feels in the hand, and works awesome on my iPhone. It is for a rather blonde reason that I bought this. I have been wanting to get a stylus for all the wasted time in a nail salon, when they wrap your fingers up in foil and polish remover for like 20 minutes to half an hour, and you can’t do absolute jackshit. Even turning the pages of a magazine is difficult. Being good ol’ ADD bB, it has taken me about three months to get one. Finally.
And last but not the least… Gelaskins! Can’t wait for them to arrive. Unfortunately, I will be in Taipei. And my MBA will have to travel naked in the meantime.

Being a stickler for original Sanrio, I spent a bit of effort hunting down my iPhone 4S case. It finally came in the mail, together with matching Bluetooth headset. :)
I’m quite drawn to those unauthentic cases with Hello Kitty on a white background though! Not sure if I should get one? I’ve been told not to be so anal…
