Had an awesome ketchup with Susan at Blu Jaz (11 Bali Lane) over a potent glass of gin & tonic, deep-fried chicken balls (known as Balls of Fire), and lusciously thick potato wedges. Haven’t seen her in half a year! It was so good to ketchup.
P came over to make sure I wasn’t falling over from the gin, and we went to Bar Stories nearby. I didn’t actually realise it was so close by! It was a few minutes to walk to. I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while now.
It is a cafe in the day time, known as Cafe Fables, and turns into a bar at night, ie Bar Stories.
Every piece of furniture is for sale.
There is no drink menu here. The bartender whips up anything according to your preference. I told him I was having gin and didn’t want to mix, and I like fruity drinks. He made this amazing grape and gin cocktail which was absolutely perfect.
P had a Manhattan variation with the whiskey substituted for something else. I can’t remember what it was, but it was a very strong drink. It was very pretty though, with the round chunk of ice and orange peel.
Mid-week mischief… We left at almost 2 am!
