Cosy dinner with P before we met up with his friends for drinks.
By the time we walked over from his office in Shenton Way, I was melting in the humidity. What is wrong with the weather these days? I don’t think Singapore has ever been this horribly warm and humid. My only requirement for an eatery for dinner was… A/C.
Beaujolais was a pleasant little wine bar/restaurant, and we were shown upstairs upon our request for A/C. It was quiet and cosy, though a little hard to get service from the waiter, unless he happened to come upstairs. We were basically at the mercy of his initiative. Thankfully, he didn’t keep us waiting too often.
We had three dishes from the tapas menu. Steak in Chimicurri sauce, which wasn’t too bad except the beef wasn’t very tender. Might have been better if they cut thinner slices…
The prawns were really good. Cooked just right and the flavours were awesome.
The escargots were a disappointment. They smelt divine when the waiter removed the lid of the little pot, but upon tasting, bB thought they had a strange aftertaste. Almost like flour… I thought it might be a one-off and tried another. Same aftertaste.
Then it was time for drinks with his friends a few doors away…
