The day I fell in love

With a machine. My ATV. <3

The wedding party had gone out on a boat ride, which bB wasn't confident of joining in without getting seasick, so she had a day of leisure alone to look forward to!

It started with a lovely complimentary brekkie at Rimlae, the resort restaurant.

I must say Rimlae serves excellent food. Brekkie was complimentary for all days of our stay. So bB ate this amazing brekkie everyday in Koh Tao!

Then, it was back to the villa to chill out a bit, wrap up work, and wait for the light rain to stop.

Not only did the rain stop, the sun came out in full force! And it was time for bB to go out riding!

For many years, I have had recurring dreams of commanding my own vehicle. Sometimes a car, but more often a motorbike. The feeling of having my own little mode of transport was quite incredible. Something I have always dreamt of. If only ATVs were legal on the roads in Singapore!

bB and her ATV went all around the island for a good few hours. Even pumped petrol for the first time in her life.

We rode out to villages, up hills and down slopes.

It was awesome. <3

A hungry bB headed back to Rimlae for a late lunch of pineapple fried rice and lemon juice, while watching the sea.

It was so good bB finished all of it despite not intending to because the portion was ginormous!

Just as bB was chilling out after the satisfying meal and pondering her next move, she heard Kate calling her name. It turns out Kate had spotted her slippers at the front of the restaurant. The crew was back early from the boat ride because many people were seasick. Thankfully bB knew herself well enough not to go!

We spent a nice arvo relaxing on the beach…

The lunch that went on and on

The first group lunch we had together as a wedding party at Koh Tao, on the very first day we arrived, was rather slow and leisurely. Lots of stress for the restaurant staff, who had never had such a large group of customers at the same time, hungry and all demanding food. They simply could not cope with us. LOL! Food trickled out very slowly… We had maybe one course per half hour. They missed out orders, got confused, delayed stuff that should have arrived earlier etc.

In addition to this long table, we also had people on two more tables in the restaurant. I think lunch took a total of three hours!

Spa Aurori @ Koh Tao

After a long lunch, which I will post about later, it started to rain again. By this time bB had an awesome ATV in her possession and a new friend Sui was my passenger that day. We rode around in the rain and then decided to pop into this nice-looking spa for a bit of pampering.

bB had a pedicure because her toes have been looking awful…

It was lovely to be in a spa with the rain pouring down outside.

The pedicure itself wasn’t fantastic and the colours were very limited so bB’s French nails were a little too pink. But it was like S$12 so I guess we get what we pay for.

Sui, looking all comfy.

After the lovely pampering, we pulled our ponchos on and rode out in the rain again. It was a rather unique experience. LOL! We agreed that it was rather enjoyable having the two extremes.

bB then stayed in to work while the rest of the wedding party gathered for dinner…

It was the most romantic work corner bB has ever worked in so far!

Koh Tao Cabana Resort

After a nap on the ferry, we arrived at Koh Tao! We were packed into little lorries, Koh Tao’s common taxi, and taken to our home for the next five days, Koh Tao Cabana..

We had our first meal at Rimlae, the hotel restaurant with awesome views of the sea from wooden platforms.

After that, we headed to our villas…

There were lots and lots of little paths… This one led to our villa. It was a long way up. All of us have toned legs now.

We were mozzie-buffets for the first day or so… It was crazy, the sheer number of blood-sucking monsters! Thankfully, on the second day, Edwin decided to spray the windows and doors with bug spray and it seemed to do the trick. A good tip for future beach resort vacays!
