Birthday dinner with the girls was at Bronte, a little restaurant I’ve been meaning to check out.
Reading my birthday card from Kate. Love you babe! <3
She gave me flowers. :)
We had truffle fries and a beer while waiting for Amanda…
I was using Kate’s awesome Canon G12 for these shots. This is why I miss using a proper camera…
Kate had the spatchcock.
I had the duck confit.
Both were kinda meh.
Amanda arrived and ordered a pasta… I can’t remember the names anymore. We are a little late getting these peektures organised. :P
The pasta wasn’t too bad. Easily the best of the three dishes, although Kate found the taste too heavy after a few bites.
Upon Vanessa’s recommendation, we had panna cotta for dessert…
Thankfully it was quite good. Dense, smooth and creamy.
The staff then served this slice of supposed chocolate tart which was basically a block of rather mediocre chocolate sitting on a biscuit base… Undaunted, the girls sang Happy Birthday with gusto. LOL
How awesome are they? :)
I wish for a proper birthday cake next year with the full number of candles. Just kidding! But I do think birthday cakes should have lots of bright, happy candles.
Maybe a cake that is easier to cut would suffice…
Dubious service and food aside, the company was awesome. And that’s really all that matters. <3

It has been a friggin harrowing experience trying to back up the old iPhone (3GS) and transferring everything to the new iPhone (4S).
I’m grateful that my brother has become a bit of an Apple fan, and also upgraded his phone earlier than I did, so he could guide me through the crazy steps.
BUT… I still managed to wipe clean my Whatsapp history. LOL!
It is a strangely liberating feeling, to be starting all over again. A brand new slate.
Getting peektures to upload properly was a bit of a pain as well. Urgh. Thankfully it is sorted out now!
I’m gonna miss my 3GS. I hope 4S and I will get along… I generally get along very well with my gadgets so all the hiccups so far have had me a little spooked.
So anyway, here is the very first post via my iPhone 4S! <3

We have some nice pie peektures after all! :D
Last food peektures from Massachusetts – home-made blooberry pie and apple pie by Mr Bb’s Aunt Joan! <3
bB would love some of that bB pie!
Mr Bb promises we will make some of our own apple pie very soon!
He is right now somewhere in air, on his way back to Singapore. Can’t wait to see him. :)

Presenting… a small portion of the Thanksgiving meal at Mr Bb’s!
There was sweet potato and butternut squash with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg…
Do we have butternut squash in Singapore?
Bean casserole…
Oyster casserole! <3
Mash… (I love mash. I love anything spud)
And turnip! I’ve never had turnip. Always wondered how it tasted!
And the pies… Essential for Tday! Mr Bb didn’t get better peektures of them because he had food coma and the pies were already destroyed when he woke up. :D
And of course, the turkey!
I can just imagine how good it smells!
Carved and ready for chow down!
Mr Bb’s plate…
I hope Tday was awesome for everyone! <3

Someone has been sending me lots and lots of Thanksgiving food peektures! Let’s start with his pinwheel rolls! <3
So the night before Tday, he sent me this as a teaser… Dough to sit overnight for action the next day!
And the action begins!
Butter and brown sugar!
Mmm… Sugary goodness! <3
Wheee!
Fresh pinwheel rolls!
And he drenches them with the sugary butter from the trays…
I can almost smell them from here! <3<3<3

Happy Thanksgiving!
It is a shame that Thanksgiving isn’t a bigger deal in Asia than it should be. Some people argue that it shouldn’t take a designated day for people to reflect and be thankful. But I think it’s a wonderful way to have the family and friends together, to have a bit of tradition to share and enjoy. Where is the joy in life without celebration (and good food)?
My family is not into celebrations. They don’t celebrate anything, at all. As a kid, I found it a little confusing that things were so different from what I read in books and saw on teevee. After a while, I simply concluded that I was a bit of an oddball around here. :)
So! Let me take a moment to write about everything I am grateful for.
I am thankful for my family. Despite our differences, they have been there for me, always.
I am thankful for my friends. Their love and support have been steadfast and constant.
I am thankful for Mr Bb. Especially for being the only person who has kicked my white night problem. For understanding. And for holding my hand.
I am thankful for the roof over my head, the food on the table, the clothes on my back, the shoes on my feet.
I am thankful for my good health.
And I hope I will never stop being thankful for all the good things in my life.
