We made pumpkin pie on Wednesday, since it was a public holiday in Singapore.
Mr Bb has been pretty excited about it for a while, after he managed to find canned pumpkin in the grocery store. He bought and hoarded two cans. Pumpkin pie is a pretty big tradition for fall and early winter for them.
It was a crazy stormy day! Sorta autumny I guess. Here’s Mr Bb scribbling a grocery list while we waited for the storm to subside.
Square pies, yup. Who says we’re conventional?
Pie filling…
Pre-heating the oven, which had been used a grand total of three times so far.
Filling is in!
And the pies are ready for action!
At this point, I got whisked away to dinner with a few friends because our Swiss friend was in town. Poor Mr Bb insisted on waiting for me to have the pie together. It was a torturous few hours for him.
And then, I finally made it home…
My first slice of pumpkin pie. :)
It was pretty awesome but really dense because we used cream cheese. He wants to perfect it this weekend with ricotta cheese instead.
I brought some for Mom to try but she didn’t like it so much. LOL. Might be a little too Western for her, gooey texture and all. My brother liked it though.
I was pleasantly surprised when Mr Bb suggested making pumpkin bread for Mom. I counter-suggested muffins. :)
